Senior Team Selection 2026

Target Selection Criteria – EMAS Inter County events

The team will be selected on the best two scores shot at any 12 dozen record status shoots between 1st March 2026 and 12th July 2026 (Nottinghamshire County championships).

The 12 dozen record status rounds that will be accepted are:

  • UKRS York/Hereford
  • WRS WA1440 90m/70m
  • WRS Double WA720 (only one double round score to be accepted)
  • 50+ rounds in the categories above

Scores from Nottinghamshire competitions will be collated by the Team Manager; for competitions elsewhere, archers will need to submit official results sheets to the Team Manager (teammanager@nottsarchery.co.uk). The deadline for score submission is 13th July 2026.

Scores for the rounds listed above will be converted to equivalent scores for the rounds that are decided on, using the Handicap Tables, enabling a squad ranking for each bow style and gender to take place. Similarly scores for relevant 50+ rounds will be converted to equivalent scores for York/Hereford rounds, using the Handicap tables and included in the squad ranking.

In the event of a tie the score from the County Championships will be used to decide overall squad ranking.

Team selections will be reviewed by the NAS Chair and Vice Chairs before being released.

Eligibility

Archers must be affiliated to NAS, EMAS and Archery GB.

Juniors must enter as seniors and shoot the senior distances to be eligible. Their scores will still be eligible for the Junior Team (to be converted by the Junior Team Manager to their age equivalent score using the Archery GB handicap tables).

Team

The selection criteria will be used to select the team to represent Nottinghamshire from 13th July 2026 to 11th July 2027. The Team Manager will have the flexibility to include archers who are performing well at shoots in 2026, evidenced by scores achieved at the categories of events listed above.

The EMAS inter counties competition (Thoresby tournament) is on 6th September 2026. The team will be confirmed as soon as practical after 13th July 2026.

The full Thoresby team:

  • Recurve – 6 women recurve (4 to count), 8 Open archers recurve (6 to count)
  • Compound – 3 women compound (2 to count), 4 Open archers compound (3 to count)
  • Barebow – 2 women barebow (1 to count), 3 Open archers Barebow (2 to count)
  • Longbow – 3 archers (1 woman and 1 Open archer to count)

Since 2023 one 50+ archer per bow style has been allowed to count in the team score.

These numbers may be reduced depending on the available capacity at the host club or the ability of other counties to produce teams. In the event that the minimum number of archers to make a mixed team in a bow style are not available then an incomplete team in that bow style may be entered, as a consequence of individual awards being available.

For other matches, team sizes are to be mutually agreed with the opposing team manager.

There will be a match against Leicestershire and Rutland and also against Lincolnshire. Dates and venues to be confirmed.
