Archery was well represented at the service to celebrate Alan’s life held in Lincoln on Wednesday 14th September.
Archers from Lincoln, Stafford and members of the EMAS committee were all in attendance at the bright, if somewhat over warm, service. It was standing room only as friends & colleagues representing all aspects of Alan’s varied work & interests joined with his family for a rousing rendition of Jerusalem. Ann Marie thanked everyone for their kind messages of sympathy and support following Alan’s sudden death.
In accordance with the families wishes, in lieu of flowers, EMAS has made a donation to the British Heart Foundation. The Leukaemia & Lymphoma society will also benefit from the collection made at the service.

Sunday saw the county team in action at Burton Bridge for the annual Tri-Counties match between Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Warwickshire.
The weather on the day was mixed, with sun, rain, wind – we only missed snow really! The match was hosted by Derbyshire – Burton Bridge Archers, which went smoothly and was a well run day – well done Burton Bridge Archers.
The county team fought well, with the Longbow team coming second, whilst the recurve and compunds came in third. Well done to all that shot, lets look forward to the Thoresby Trophy in September
Congratulations to Steve Attwood of Wilford Bowmen for being selected for the Notts County Team for the 25th Year.
