I would like to again invite all recurve juniors within the county who want to improve their shooting ready for next year’s tournament season to join me on the Junior Training.
Last year’s training has been a great success. The County Junior Team were all on the training and we won the Sydney Bond Junior Intercounties for the first time in 17yrs! Of those on the team two had only started archery last October, and all 8 of the team are now JMB’s (Junior Master Bowmen).
I would like to invite you to our ground at Wollaton, Saturday afternoons from 12.30pm – 2.30ish, starting 21st October. For the best results it is best to come every week, if this isn’t possible then come when you can. With being outdoors I may have to cancel at short notice due to the weather, in which case I would send out an email to let you know the evening before. I would like parents to stay and take part in their child’s progress. There will also be Stregth training indoors once a month.
The only cost will be £20 to cover the cost of the hall I have booked at Rushcliffe School, West Bridgford, this cost could be reduced if funding is available. The hall would be used once a month for 4 months – this will be for strength training , clini band drills and blank boss shooting. These sessions would run on one Saturday per month from 2pm-4pm dates are: 25th Nov, 16th Dec, 20th Jan, 24th Feb.
You don’t need to start on the start date you can start whenever you like. The training continues all through the shooting season.
Depending on numbers other coaches would be drafted in as needed.
If you are interested or would like more information please email me at : firstname.lastname@example.org please mark email as Junior Training.
Review snippets from parents on 2016-17 training :
From Liz Eyres (Bramcote Archery Club)
Charlotte’s determination and will to improve Junior archery in Nottinghamshire is amazing (even turning up to support the juniors in competition). She has the knowledge and skill to make it happen and I hope she will continue to do so! I would thoroughly encourage any Junior Recurve Archers who wish to improve their archery technique to attend her coaching sessions. The results speak volumes – Laura has already attained 4 JMB scores this year and came 3rd at the Junior National Outdoor Championships.
From Jayne Dutton (Beeston Rylands)
My daughter Daisy Medley started training with Charlotte in October. Daisy had just begun her Archery at this stage and had not long finished her beginners course. Daisy has now received her Junior master Bowman and has been chosen to shoot for the County.
From Andy Barker (Bramcote Archery Club)
Poppys scores have SOARED since Charlotte has started coaching her. I would never have even thought about entering her for the Junior nationals last year, This year, she finished 4th on the first day, setting a new County record for the Metric 5!! Popp
