Belvoir Archers are through to the Semi Finals of the ArcheryGB onTarget inter club competition.

Today, Sue Haynes, Ros Creasey, Alex Bridges  and BryanHaynes went to Trent Valley Archers in Stoke on Trent to shoot the ArcheryGB onTarget inter club quarter final.

The competition is over 3 matches of 24 arrows at an 80cm face at 50m.  1 gent compound+Recurve, 1 lady compound+Recurve

First Match of 24 arrows is a full team shoot – highest combined score between both teams

Second match of 24 arrows is compounds v  compounds, recurves v recurves.

Third and final match  is top of each disclipline shooting against each other and bottom of each disclipline (4 shoots).

You get 2 points for a win, 1 for a loss.

Belvoir Archers went into the Third round with 1 match in hand.  To say it was close, was an understatement.

Alex beat TVA’s top recurve archer Veronique, by  1 point, and Bryan lost to Alan TVA’s top compound archer by 1 point, with Sue winning her Compound match but Ros norrrowly loosing her Recurve match.

Overall this gave Belvoir a 11-10 win.

Belvoir now wait to see who the meet in the semi finals between Queenborough Archers of Oxford Archers.

The Semi-Finals and Finals will be shot on the same day, possibly at Lilleshall.

Helen Lowe also shot in Belvoir’s win over Bingham LCAC, but has not been able to take part since due to a broken wrist.
